Get In Touch

What we’re currently looking for

You would not believe the amount of music we get to listen to. Quite often it’s a real privilege, and sometimes (but much less often) it can be quite painful!

We’re interested in working with mature, hard working musicians and composers who make awe-inspiring music from various genres.

It doesn’t matter what you compose and record with or whether you do it in a coal shed up North, or in a professional recording studio in New York (with en-suite massage). All that really matters is what we think of your music and whether or not we believe we can work together for the long haul.

Please read the following information so you understand the process of submitting work to us:

Important things to know before and after contacting us.

  • Important things to know before you contact us

    1. Please do not send any sound or art files by email unless we ask you to.
    2. When you email us, please make sure you include the following information:
      • A direct link to where we can hear your music. [We would rather you didn’t send us on a website chase as we simply don’t have the time to wait for files to load or to go through an entire site to find you.
      • We want to know a bit about you. We need to know what your expectations are of an independent record company; why you chose us, and what you would realistically like to achieve with your music.
      • We will also need a contact telephone number with times when it would be best to reach you.
  • Important things to know – after you contact us

    1. We receive your introductory email and if it looks good, we’ll follow your link(s) and usually give your music a thorough listen to there and then.
    2. If we think you are someone we’d be interested in working with, we may decide to refer you as a prospective developing artist or a prospective label ready artist to our review guys.
    3. The review comprises a group of individuals who will review your arrangements, production expertise, and musicianship for potential. At this point, we may either stop right there or you will be contacted via telephone (a bit like a cellphone but bigger).
    4. Our phone chat will give you the opportunity to ask us about R Cat Records and will give us the opportunity to talk to you directly about your music. It will also help you and us determine if you are already destined to be an R Cat recording artist.
    5. We will all go away and make a final decision and either stop right there or, we will then issue you with our artist/label agreement.
    6. Once your agreement has been returned to us, we can welcome you aboard and the real adventure begins!
